Chicana actress and cultural worker Ana Olivarez-Levinson was in Cuba between October 1984 and April 1985 undergoing a training with Grupo Teatro Escambray. During this period, she documented her experience. For example, the second photo shows director and Teatro Escambray founder Gilda Hernández labelled as “La Matriarca”.
