La Verbena de la Paloma
Zarzuela (Spanish)
Don Hilarión, the neighborhood drugstore owner, a man in his sixties but who thinks of himself as a young man, plans to attract either a brunette or a blond; it does not matter which one. His actions arouse the jealousy of Julián, an honest laborer who loves Susan, one of the girls that Don Hilarión courts. Susana chooses Julián but only after doing her part in provoking his jealous feelings. While Tía Antonia tries to take advantage of the situation and of Don Hilarión through the girls' charms, Seña Rita advises Julián and finally gets Susana and Julián to confess each other their love.
