Play script

Notes:

A "comedia española"

The following contains a series of notes concerning the songs used in the play:

The habanera in Scene IV was inspired by "Es el amor la mitad de la vida," a song by Jose Marin Varona, who used J.R. Barreiro's poem for the lyrics.
The song in Scene IX follows the inspiration of Chamaco Dominguez's bolero "Mienteme."
Scene XI reproduces a popular children's song.
The tango in Scene XII is very close to a literal translation of María Grever's "Júrame."
The bolero in Scene XIII is a literal translation of a song by Piloto y Vera.
