Miami New Drama’s 7 DEADLY SINS was the largest live professional theater production during the COVID-19 shutdown, transforming 6 vacant storefronts and the Colony Theatre loading dock into 7 unique theater spaces, and invigorating an entire block of Miami Beach’s historic Lincoln Road, one of the world’s most renowned and trafficked pedestrian thoroughfares. Its acclaimed run was extended twice, playing 54 performances. The socially distanced, world-premiere production employed over 100 theater workers – 7 BIPOC playwrights, over 80 creatives, technicians, and production staff, and 25 Actors. Amidst a global pandemic, 7 DEADLY SINS created new work that speaks to the moment, brought the community together, provided a lifeline to theater professionals, and kept LIVE theater ALIVE through brave creativity and groundbreaking innovation.

A safe, outdoor, and socially distanced theater experience for the times of the pandemic with seven live groundbreaking performances in seven uniquely-transformed storefronts on Miami Beach’s historic Lincoln Road. 7 Deadly Sins was the largest professional live theater production taking place in the United States during the pandemic, featuring provocative new takes on the seven deadly sins by a diverse group of nationally-recognized, award winning playwrights and live music in an Outdoor Purgatory Lounge. It was sold out for two months and extended twice by popular demand, receiving national attention from The New York Times and American Theater Magazine.
