This is the first of two plays by Maria Irene Fornes to run in repertory (''The Conduct of Life'' opens Feb. 15) for seven weeks. During the last decade Fornes has become a hot playwright everywhere but in Chicago. This double bill should correct the oversight. For the occasion, the Organic Theater has bisected its mainstage area into two separate playing areas, each seating approximately 100.
