    Rolando Ferrer was born in Santiago de Cuba in 1925 and died in Havana in 1976. He dabbled in medicine, law and finally, drama, to which he devoted himself. He took his first steps on the stage as an actor, playwright, and director, with the Group Escénico Libre de La Habana. He also worked with La Rueda and Rita Montaner. His translations include works by Shakespeare, Plautus, Mishima, Machiavelli and Ben Johnson, as well as adaptations of Spanish classics by Cervates and Lope de Rueda.
