Garcia-Romero's plays include SANTA CONCEPTION, EARTHQUAKE CHICA, JUANITA'S STATUE and DESERT LANDING. Her plays have been developed and produced at the New York Shakespeare Festival/Public Theater, South Coast’s Repertory’s Hispanic Playwrights Project, Arielle Tepper Production’s Summer Play Festival, INTAR, The Playwright’s Center, The Jungle Theater and Lincoln center Theater Directors Lab. She has been commissioned by South Coast Repertory, the New York Shakespeare Festival/Public Theater and Teatro Del Pueblo, St. Paul, MN. She is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama. She is a recipient of a Jerome fellowship from the Playwright’s center of Minneapolis as well as a MacDowell. She has been a visiting playwriting instructor at Wesleyan University, Macalester College and Augsburg College. She has worked extensively with the 52nd Street Project, creating theater with children in NYC. Ms. Garcia-Romero currently enjoys living near the ocean in Santa Monica, California.
