Set in Spain in the 1950s, the play follows the difficulties that face a bourgeois couple, Dr. Enrique Molinos and his wife Isabel. Enrique falls in love with his young colleague Julia. Viewing his wife as an obstacle to his plans with Julia, Enrique begins to plot Isabel's murder.
