Capricho (2003)

Play script (English)

This one act play illustrates a brief moment in the career of Loló, a forgotten actor in a Lope de Vega play. Set in Madrid, 1936, the setting is beneath the stage at a playhouse. Foolish and forlorn, Loló is a leftover trouper, an old world soul doing a ten-minute vaudeville turn on the virtues of standing by. This brief allegory mirrors the lonely community of actors who are constantly waiting to perform and share their artistic gifts with an audience.
